Pedestrian Struck on Corner of Morris, Mountain Avenues

Summit resident Teodora Palos was taken to Morristown Memorial with injuries.

A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at the corner of Morris and Mountain Avenues Thursday morning, police report.

Summit resident Teodora Palos, 60, was struck by a motor vehicle turning left onto Mountain Avenue from Morris Avenue around 9:24 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle was driven by Summit resident Danielle Maloney, 42.

Lt. John Doughtery of the Summit Police Department said an Atlantic Health Ambulance happened to witness the accident, stopped and rendered assistance. The emergency medical technicians determined Palos needed to be taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital since it is the area trauma center.

Dougherty said the investigation is still ongoing and the status of Palos' condition is unknown at this time.
