Upon further investigation, Summit police believe there was no contact between a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Union Place Wednesday morning.

Summit Police Lt. David Richel said "the individual involved was uncooperative and numerous witnesses at the scene stated that there was no contact between the vehicle and a pedestrian."

Richel added that it is "unknown if he fell down during the incident because he was completely uncooperative."

A man who was struck by a car Wednesday morning at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Union Place walked away unharmed, police said.

Summit Police Capt. Steven Zagorski said officers responded to the scene where the victim was able to get up and walk away. The driver was no longer at the scene and no ambulance was needed, he added.

There is no investigation at this time, Zagorski said.
