Police Blotter: $410 in Items Stolen from Lafayette Avenue Home

Portable television, laptop and Homelite Blower reported stolen.

  • On Sept. 23, police received a report of theft of a Coby portable TV valued at $100, a BlueAcer Laptop computer and case valued at $250 and a black Homelite Blower valued at $60 from a Lafayette Avenue residence sometime between 8 p.m., Sept. 21 and 5 p.m Sept. 23. 
  • On Sept. 23, police received a report of a theft of a small red children’s bicycle with training wheels sometime after 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 in front of a Springfield Avenue Realtor’s Office.
  • On Sept. 24, police received a report of a theft of a student’s school-issued laptop computer valued at $2,500 from a backpack which was left unattended in the gym area of Kent Place School on Norwood Avenue sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 18.
  • On Sept. 24, police arrested Gary P. Schwenk, 42, of Chatham, at the railroad station and charged him with lewdness.
  • On Sept. 25, police received a report of a theft of a black wire-framed planter valued at $125 from the front of a Beechwood Road florist sometime between 5:30 p.m., Sept. 24, and 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 25.
  • On Sept. 26, police arrested Aravinth Sivasubramaniam, 46, of Summit, at Woodland Avenue, for driving while intoxicated and careless driving.
  • On Sept. 26, police received a report of the theft of a red Diamondback bicycle valued at $200 from outside a Springfield Avenue convenience store. 
  • On Sept. 27, at 11 p.m., police received a report of a rock thrown through a window at an Orchard Street residence.
