Police Blotter: Several Residential Burglaries Reported

Laptop, digital camera, and jewelry among stolen items at various locations.

Several residential burglaries were reported this past week. Those reports and others collected by the Summit Police Department are below.

On Nov. 17, police received a report of burglary and theft at a Montrose Avenue residence sometime between 9:30 and 11:05 a.m.  Known missing at this time are a laptop computer, a digital camera and jewelry (value unknown).
 
On Nov. 17, police received a report of theft of two cast iron urns valued at $90 each from the porch of a Sherman Avenue residence sometime between 6:00 p.m. Nov. 15 and 11:00 a.m. Nov. 16.
 
On Nov. 17, police received a report of burglary and theft at a Lowell Avenue residence discovered by resident at 7:30 p.m. Known missing at this time are a number of jewelry items (value unknown).
 
On Nov. 18, police received a report of theft of two urns from the front porch of a Sherman Avenue residence (value unknown) sometime between Nov. 15 and Nov. 16.
 
On Nov. 18, police received a report of burglary and theft at a Montrose Avenue residence sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 6:50 p.m.  Known missing at this time are two necklaces valued at $2,700.
 
On Nov. 20, police arrested Manuel Valerio, 23 of Passaic, at Morris Avenue and Beverly Road for Driving While Suspended.
 
On Nov. 22, police received a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle while it was parked at an Oak Ridge Avenue residence sometime during the previous night.  The driver’s side window was reportedly smashed.
 
On Nov. 22, police received a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle while it was parked at the Jewish Community Center on Kent Place Blvd sometime between 8:00 p.m., Nov. 21 and 1:30 a.m. Nov. 22. The vehicle was reportedly hit with eggs.
 
On Nov. 23, police arrested David W. Barton, 18 of Summit, at Tulip Street for Possession of 50 Grams or Less Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and Possession of Burglary Tools.
