Police Blotter: Stolen Items Still Unknown in Ashwood Road Burglary

Police Blotter for the week of June 9 to June 15.

On June 7, arrested Nicholas Mecca, 24, of Carlstadt, at Prospect Street for Contempt of Court.
 
On June 8, police arrested Robert Chiafulio, 36, of Rochelle Park, arrested at Prospect Street for Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances, Possession of Hypodermic Needle or Syringe with Intent to Use or to Sell, Furnish or Give to Any Person and Operation of Motor Vehicle While in Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances.
 
On June 8, police arrested Navin Chatlani, 23, of Carlstadt, at Prospect Street for Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances, Possession of Hypodermic Needs or Syringe with Intent to Use or to Sell, Furnish or Give to Any Person and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
 
On June 9, police received a report of theft of flowers from a flower pot located next to the front door of a Springfield Avenue florist sometime between 5 p.m., June 8, and 9:30 a.m. June 9. Reported stolen included 25 orange Begonias, six Potato Vines and three Varigated Ivy plants.
 
On June 9, police arrested Wilfrido Tlatelpa, 26, of Jersey City, at Springfield Avenue for Driving While Suspended.
 
On June 9, police arrested Nuno Ferreira, 29, of North Arlington, at Summit Police
Headquarters for third degree Forgery and second degree Theft by Deception.
 
On June 9  police arrested Nixa Ortiz, 41, of Elizabeth, at Springfield Avenue and Kent Place for Driving While Suspended.
 
On June 10, police arrested Syed Rehman, 30, of Bayonne, at River Road and Woodland Avenue for Driving While Intoxicated.
 
On June 10, police arrested Krista Fahey, 39, of Maplewood, at Broad Street for Driving While Suspended.
 
On June 10, police received a report of burglary and theft at an Ashwood Road residence sometime between 11:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. A list of missing items is still pending.
 
On June 10, police responded to a burglar alarm at a Hillcrest Avenue residence. Police reportedly found evidence of burglary and theft.  Contact made with homeowners who were responding from out of town.  Reported stolen were an antique watch collection, gold cuff links and two gold rings. 

On June 11, police arrested Richard Marshall, 49, of Short Hills, at Rt. 124 East and Hobart Avenue for Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving and Failure to Possess Driver's License.

On June 11, police received a report of theft of a Dell laptop computer and an IBM laptop computer from a professional office on Beechwood Road sometime around the beginning of the week.  The value of missing computers unknown at this time. 
 
On June 12, police received a report of theft of envelope containing $800 cash from the backstairs of a Greenfield Avenue residence sometime between 7:15 a.m., June 11, and 7:30 a.m., June 12.
 
On June 13, police received a report of theft of a Symbol brand hand-held scanner from a cart in one the units at Overlook Hospital sometime between 11:45 a.m., June 12 and 12:30 p.m. June 13. Scanner valued at between $1,500 and $2,000.
 
On June 14, police received a report of theft of equipment valued at over $10,000 from a Middle Avenue construction yard sometime between noon, June 13 and 6 a.m. June 14.  Items taken included two gas generators, Jumping Jack, concrete grinder, gas demo saw, electric demo saw, electric grease gun, site laser, electric demo hammer, electric hammer drill combo, water pump and small electric hammer.
