Police Blotter: Two Cars Reported Stolen

Police report two cars were also broken into and a wallet was stolen from a Beechwood Road coffee shop.

Summit police received reports of two car break-ins, a stolen wallet, and two stolen cars during the week of Aug. 11-17.

  • On Aug. 11 police received a report that a car was broken into while parked at a Midland Terrace residence sometime overnight on Aug. 10. A Blackberry Storm car charger was reported stolen.
  • On Aug. 11 police also received a report that a car was broken into while parked in the driveway at an Oaklawn Road residence sometime between 9 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 4:30 a.m. Aug, 11. An Escort radar detector valued at $300 was reported missing.
  • On Aug. 12 police received a report that a wallet containing $300 in cash was stolen from a Beechwood Road coffee shop sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • On Aug. 12, Kevin L. Martin, 29, of Millington, NJ, was arrested at Ridgedale Avenue for contempt of court.
  • Also on Aug. 12, police arrested Rickey McCloud, 49, of Newark, at Route 124 and Hobart Avenue for contempt of court.
  • A 1999 green Jeep Cherokee was reportedly stolen on Aug. 13 from a Morris Avenue private lot sometime between 9 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Reportedly inside the vehicle were a Sirius Satellite Radio, a pair of Smith sunglasses and vehicle documents.
  • On Aug. 14 police received a report of a burglary at a vacant Gary Road residence sometime between July 30 and Aug. 14. There was damage to the front door but nothing was reported missing.
  • Police received a report of a burglary to a Hobart Avenue residence on Aug. 15 which was discovered at 8:15 p.m. The residence was reportedly found ransacked. No information is available as to what was stolen.
  • A dark blue 2007 Mercedes Benz S550 was reported stolen on Aug. 15 from a Beechwood Road address.
  • On Aug. 16 police received a report of a "No Parking Anytime" sign removed from the ground and laying on the lawn of a Hillcrest Avenue residence.
  • Kylonye N. Glover, 19, of Jersey City, was arrested on Aug. 16 at Morris Avenue and Cedar Street for driving on a suspended license, having an uninsured motor vehicle, and not having a front license plate.
  • On Aug. 17 police received a report of malicious mischief at St. Teresa's Cemetery sometime between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17. Two headstones were overturned, but there was reportedly no damage.
  • Isabel A. Abrew, 39, of Summit, was arrested Aug. 17 at Broad Street and Summit Avenue for contempt of court, improper U-turn and having an unregistered motor vehicle.
