Police Blotter: Vehicle Break-Ins, Stolen Goods
The following information was supplied by the Summit police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
On May 14, police received a report that a Panasonic FH22 Lumix Digital camera valued at $250.00 was stolen from a DeForest Avenue professional office sometime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 13.
On May 16, police received a report of burglary and theft from a motor vehicle while it was parked in a Baltusrol Road residential driveway. Around 5 a.m., the homeowner discovered someone in her car. The suspect fled the scene and was gone by the time police arrived. About $5 in cash was taken from the vehicle.
On May 19, police received two reports of vehicle break-ins that occurred within a mile of each other over a two-day period.

- The first one was reported to have occurred between 9:30 p.m. May 17 and 7:30 a.m. May 18 in a residential driveway on Woodland Avenue. Stolen items included $300 in cash, an Acura factory installed DVD player, personal items valued at $3,265 and various credit cards.
- The second vehicle break-in was reported to have occurred between 11 p.m. May 18 and 11 a.m. May 19 outside a residence on Park Avenue. The resident reported missing a vehicle’s CD player/radio valued at $200.
On May 19, police received a report of a stolen white and gray Trek mountain bike valued at $400 from a Tulip Street residential garage. The theft is reported to have occurred sometime between 10 p.m. May 18 and 9:30 a.m. May 19.
