Police Issue Nixle Regarding Suspicious Incident

A man in his 20s reportedly approached a 16-year-old girl walking home and asked for her name.

The Summit Police Department has issued a Nixle alert regarding a suspicious incident that occurred Tuesday in the Ridge Road area around 2:15 p.m.

A male in his 20s reportedly approached a 16-year-old female and asked her name, the alert states. The man was described as a Caucasian or Hispanic male in his early 20's, 6' tall with brown hair and wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans. He exited a newer model white pick up truck and asked a 16-year-old female her name and also stated that she was cute.

This incident took place in the area of Fernwood Road and Ridge Road.

The female continued walking home and the male left the area with no more interaction between them, the alert states.

While the suspicious incident was reported to the Summit Police Dept, at this time it is the police believe that there was no criminal intent by the male described above, according to the alert.
