Purses, Cash and iPhone Among Items Stolen as Car Burglaries Continue

An iPhone 4 was reportedly removed from a bag that was located at Mabie Playground on Sept. 5.

Car burglars struck again in Summit, police said, making off with cash, purses and an iPhone 5. This week's thefts followed eight separate but similar incidents reported last week. 

Two rolls of quarters and several cds were removed from a vehicle while it was parked at a North Street residence sometime between 4 p.m. Sept. 3 and 2 p.m. Sept. 5.

In two separate incidents, Hobart Avenue residents reported thefts from their vehicles around 11:15 a.m. Saturday. An orange Ralph Lauren handbag valued at $2,500 containing a green Ralph Lauren wallet valued at $300, make-up bag, credit cards, and $10 in cash and a black iPhone 5 with a blue case valued at $600 were taken from one vehicle, while three pairs of Bola sunglasses and $20 in cash were taken from a second resident's vehicle.  

Also on Saturday morning, a Vera Bradley wristlet, make-up bag, large tote bag, black baseball glove and numerous documents were reported stolen from vehicle while it was parked at a Westminster Road residence.

A Longchamp purse valued at $160, containing credit and bank cards, $80 in cash, three pairs of reading glasses valued at $60 and a pair of sunglasses valued at $20, were reported stolen from a vehicle while it was parked at the municipal golf course sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m Wednesday.
