Summit FD Investigating Saturday Night Fire

A small structure, described as a garage or shed, had to be knocked down by Summit firefighters.

Summit fire officials are currently investigating a small garage fire that occurred Saturday night on Irving Place in the vicinity of Springfield Avenue.

No one was hurt in the fire, which Summit Fire Department Battalion Chief Donald Nelson described as "very, very small." He said it took about one short burst of water from a fire hose to put out the blaze. The call came in to the fire station around 11:30p.m. on Saturday night. It took about 4 minutes for firefighters to bring the situation under control.

Still, Nelson said, the incident is currently under investigation and there was no further information at this time.
