Summit Man Arrested on Pot Charge in New Providence
The following information was obtained directly from the New Providence Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Cpl. Chad Wilson charged a 17-year-old juvenile male with possession of a controlled dangerous substance on Saturday, April 21.
This charge stems from Wilson's investigation of the smell of marijuana coming from the interior of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop for a moving violation on Passaic Street.
On April 29, police responded to the parking lot of Spring Floral Drive on a report from a resident of a group of individuals smoking marijuana in a motor vehicle.

After an investigation, Sgt. Robert Carroll arrested a passenger in the vehicle, David Difede, 18, of Summit with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
He was released pending a municipal court date.
