The Summit Police Department will be hosting it’s tenth season of their annual Youth Academy program, a youth day camp modeled after the police academy, this summer.
According to the Summit Police Department, those who are accepted into the program will be trained daily in the areas of physical endurance, Drill and Ceremony, investigation techniques, patrol practices, as well as drug and alcohol awareness.
Program participates will also take part in a field trip to the Union County Police Academy for special demonstrations presented by specialized police units such as the police canine unit and SWAT team.

The academy will be running two one-week long sessions this year, one from July 14-18 and the other from July 28-August 1.
