Summit Provides Mutual Aid in Sunday Crash

Two teenagers were injured in the Sunday night crash.

A Millburn teenager is in critical condition after a single-car crash sent him and the driver of the vehicle to the hospital Sunday night.

George Ganter, 19, was transported by helicopter to University Hospital in Newark, according to police. Capt. James Miller, police public information officer, said he was in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, Margaux Morreale, 18, of Short Hills, was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital by the Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad, according to police. She was treated and released.

The crash at the intersection of Parkview Drive and Southern Slope Drive was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Neighbors reported the helicopter landed at Taylor Park.

The crash is under investigation by the Millburn Police Crash Investigation Team and the Essex County Vehicular Homicide Unit.

Millburn firefighters were at the scene assisting with removing the victims from the vehicle. They also applied drying agent to the road and assisted with general clean-up once the police completed their on-site investigation. Summit firefighters gave mutual aid on the incident, staging the area for the helicopter to land.
