Power Restored to Whittredge Road

Street was blocked Tuesday between Lenox Road and Prospect Hill Avenue.

A tree leaning on power lines and blocking Whittredge Road between Lenox Road and Prospect Hill Avenue has been removed and power has been restored.

The National Weather Service had issued a small stream flood warning for Union County Tuesday.

Gina Owens, a resident on Whittredge Road who lost power Tuesday, said as a result of the power outage she also could not pump out water from her basement and from overflow in her in-ground pool.

"The water was 1/2 inch from rising over the top," Owens wrote to Patch in an e-mail. "Couldn't use that pump either because the power was out. It would have overflowed into my home and flooded my basement more with old water that would have caused a mold issue. The Summit firefighters came and pumped out my pool. They could not have been nicer."
