BOE Approves $63M Budget

The 2012-2013 school year budget sees a zero increase with a $14.22 tax increase on the average $410K home.

A special meeting of the saw a unanimous 6-0 approval of the schools budget for the next school year. The budget saw less of an increase than in the previous year. Schools Superintendant Nathan Parker called it a "budget that is very fiscally responsible."

"There still ends up being a tax impact based on ratables," said BOE business administrator Lou Pepe. The average home assessed at $410,000 would see an increase of $14.22.

"This is my ninth and last budget," said board member Thomas O'Rourke. "I've been here for the good the bad and the ugly," he said. "It makes me pleased going off the board in May, that I've been a part of something that I can visible say has improved."
