It's your time to vote Summit, so make sure you and your neighbors are registered to participate in the 2012 election.
Here are three things you need to know about the 2012 election:
- Today, Oct. 16, is your final day to register to vote for the upcoming election on Nov. 6. To help you out, the City Clerk's office will be open for an extended period, from 8:30a.m. to 9p.m. The clerk's office is located on the second floor of City Hall.
- Oct. 30, is your last day to apply via mail for an "absentee" ballot, now known as a Vote-by-Mail ballot. This helps if you want to avoid waiting in line or heading out early to a polling place on Election Day. If you choose this option, Union County must receive your ballot by the close of business on this day.
- Nov. 5, at 3p.m. is the deadline to apply in person for an "absentee" ballot for Nov. 6.
