Updated: Democrats Barely Out-Fundraise GOP

Murphy/Graff Coburn for Council 2009 spent just more than $6,000 more than Republicans since last report over summer.

Campaign contribution reports released last week show that the two remaining Democratic candidates for council, Laura Graff Coburn and Steve Murphy, have just barely out-fundraised and out-spent the three Republican candidates with less than 30 days until the Nov. 3 election.

The committee to re-elect Andy Lark, who is running for the at-large council seat, raised $5,192.26 since the last contributions report June 22 and has spent $3,911.77.

His running mates Rich Madden and Nuris Portuondo, who filed jointly as Portuondo + Madden for Council, raised $9,841 and spent $3199.77. However, they also have indivudual accounts as well. Portuondo raised $9,535 and Madden $2,566. The reports show Portuondo and Madden actually raised an additional $1,000 seperately, but each donated $1,000 to their joint campaign.

Portuondo spent $4,107 and Madden $2,534 including the $1,000 they each donated to joint account.
