Habitat for Humanity Holds Raise the Roof Fundraiser

Event supports Interfaith Community Build project.

The City of Summit, the Summit Affordable Housing Corporation, the Morris Habitat for Humanity, and the Summit Interfaith Community held their "Raise the Roof" fundraiser and buffet on Sunday, October 4th at the Grand Summit Hotel.  Approx. 275 paying guests were in attendance to support the event, including Summit Mayor Jordan Glatt.  

The fundraiser was held to increase funds to build affordable housing in Summit.  Thus far, $350,000 has been raised, ancluding $150,000 by the Summit Interfaith Community. The planned project--designed by architect Seth Leeb--is expected to cost $1.4 million. 

The Chatham Community Band’s Jazz Ensemble volunteered their services to provide lively entertainment, and several florists--including Parker Gardens of Scotch Plains, Surburban Wholesale Florist of Chatham, and Berkeley Florist and Garden Center Inc.--provided fresh-cut flowers and table center pieces for the event.
