HuffPo: Union County Freeholders Back Candidates in 10th District Race

Newark Councilman Ron Rice and State Senator Nia Gill have garnered support from Union County Freeholders in the five-way race for a seat representing the 10th Congressional district in NJ.

 

The 10th Congressional district race may not be big news in Summit, but the Democratic primary to succeed is hotly contested.

It also involves Union County Freeholders.

The 10th Congressional district includes Linden, Roselle, Union Township in Union County as well as towns in Essex (Maplewood, Newark, Irvington, South Orange, West Orange, Orange, East Orange, and Montclair) and some in Hudson County.

Rice has picked up support from Union County Freeholders and Chris Hudak, who delivered support to Rice in their hometowns of Roselle and Linden, along with Roselle Mayor Jamel Holley. Union County Democrats are not backing anyone in the race, according to a report on the Huffington Post.

Meanwhile, state senator Nia Gill (D-Montclair) has picked up the support of Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella.
