Kent Place School to Host Sen. Thomas Kean Jr for Ethics and Politics Panel

On Monday, Kean and Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey will discuss the relationship between ethics and politics, and the future challenges of democracy in the U.S.

On Monday, October 24, The Ethics Institute at  will host an Ethics & Politics Panel in the Commons Room, Mabie House from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The panel will feature Senator Thomas H. Kean, Jr. and Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey.

Senator Kean represents District 21, which includes 16 towns in Essex, Morris, Somerset and Union counties. The senator serves on the Senate Education Committee, the Senate Commerce Committee and the Legislative Oversight Committee.

He is a member of The Newark Museum Board of Trustees; a member of the Rutgers Business School Board of Advisors; a member of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities; an Honorary Member of the Board of Trustees of the Papermill Playhouse and an Honorary Member of the Westfield Symphony Orchestra. Senator Kean graduated from Dartmouth College in 1990. He is currently completing his doctoral dissertation in international relations at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where he also received his MALD and was employed as a graduateschool instructor. The senator lives in Westfield with his wife, Rhonda, and their two daughters.

Assemblywoman Jasey represents the 27th Legislative District in Essex and Morris counties. She is Vice-Chair of the Housing and Local Government Committee, a member of the Education Committee and the Joint Committee on the Public Schools. Prior to joining the Assembly, Ms. Jasey served as a member of the South Orange/Maplewood Board of Education for three terms, including a two-year stint as president. She is recognized as a leader in the area of education and has an extensive record of community service.

The NJ Housing and Community Development Network honored her as Legislator of the Year. Over two-dozen bills she has sponsored have become laws. The assemblywoman received her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University and her MA from Pace University's Graduate School of Nursing.
