Letter To The Editor: Please Don't Vandalize Lawn Signs

Summit Republican and Democrat chairs decry lawn sign vandalism.

With 16 days to go before the election, you don’t have to go far to see the diversity of opinion in Summit.  In fact, in most cases, based on the lawn signs, you don’t have to go past your own block.  But that diversity is one of the things that make Summit special.

In the last week or so, we have seen many cases of these lawn signs being stolen or vandalized.  As the Chairs of the Summit Democratic and Republican Committees, we would like to ask everyone to remember that in the end (in this case on November 7th), we will still be neighbors and we need to respect each other’s opinions and the right to express them.

So this is a plea to the people who can’t keep their hands off the opposition’s lawn signs: Please just stop!
