My Endorsement of Sandy Bloom for Common Council in Ward 1

She is a consensus builder and knows how to work well with others.

I have known Sandy for over 10 years. We were first introduced when we worked together on the Summit Board of Education, which we did for five years ending in 2005.

Currently we are working together on the Summit Zoning Board, and have been for almost four years. Through these volunteer assignments, we have come to know each other quite well, and I have found her to be a dependable, and conscientious person who you can count on to make a well thought out and practical decision.

She thinks through issues carefully, and is open to differing opinions-she really listens to others’ points of view. She is also a consensus builder and knows how to work well with others. These abilities are something that are very much needed in our Common Council.

She will do what she feels makes sense for Summit, as she did as a member of the Board of Education, helping to expand our schools thru the building of new Primary Centers, a good decision for the children and families of Summit.

She continues on the Zoning Board, making the sometimes difficult decisions that are right for the overall community. While we sometimes disagree, we have worked well together, respecting each other’s point of view and working to come to practical decisions that makes sense.

Sandy has been an active Summit volunteer for many years, helping to make Summit a better place to live. She is the type of person with the personality and skills that we need to have on Common Council and she will be a great addition to that  body. She deserves the community’s vote, and I heartily endorse her!
