Pruning of Trees for Power Line Clearance Begins in Summit

Work began Wednesday and is expected to last five weeks, weather permitting.

The City of Summit is advising residents that Jaflo, Inc. has been contracted by Jersey Central Power & Light to conduct line clearance pruning throughout the city.

The work consists of removing branches which overhang or are within 10-15 feet of power wires and is required by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities every four years. The pruning is being monitored by the City of Summit Department of Public Works and will take approximately five weeks, weather permitting. It began Wednesday.

Properties affected by the pruning have been or will be contacted by a notification placed on their door. A contact phone number is on the notification card.
