Traffic Measures Amended at Residents' Requests

Council also introduced an amendment to a traffic ordinance that would allow no left turns at Franklin Place and Summit Avenue.

At the urging of Summit residents, the city council amended two traffic safety ordinances at its meeting last week.

Parking on Edgar Street will now be limited to two hours while school is in session following complaints from neighborhood residents who objected to students parking there and using the path to cut through to Summit High School.

The council also heard from parents who requested that the 30 mile-per-hour speed limit on Ashland Road between Pine Grove Avenue and Elm Place be reduced to 25 miles per hour.

The council also introduced an amendment to a traffic ordinance that would allow no left turns at Franklin Place and Summit Avenue. The hearing date for this ordinance is set for Tuesday, Oct. 1.
