The City of Summit is reporting that all polling locations with the exception of Lincoln-Hubbard School and Franklin School will continue to operate on Election Day, tomorrow. Those residents who would normally vote at Lincoln-Hubbard should go to the gym at Summit High School. Lawton C. Johnson Middle School's Main Gym becomes the new polling place for those originally assigned to Franklin School, according to a message from the Summit City Clerk's office.

The Vito A. Gallo Senior Building at 12 Chestnut and Saint John's Lutheran Church are expected to be in operation. "The situation from the County Board of Elections understandably has had changes," said Terri Tauber, chair of the Summit Democrats in an email. "It originally was going to provide generators for the non-powered building and now wants to consolidate voting sites," she said.

Displaced N.J. Voters

The county has instituted a vote by email or fax option to residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Here are the steps:

Those New Jersey voters who have had to relocate to a state where they are not registered, due to the hurricane, according to elections officials, can still vote on Election Day in that state with a provisional ballot. Voters who havce been displaced to other counties in NJ also can vote via the mail or fax option.

If you decide to mail in a ballot, because you were displaced by Hurricane Sandy, the ballot must by postmarked by today, Nov. 5, and will be accepted and counted as long as it is received by the Board of Elections (271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07207) by Nov. 19.
