DOG OF THE WEEK – Help Spivey find her Forever Home

Spivey is a female Italian Greyhound/Whippet mix, approximately 9 months old.  She was found as a stray in front of the southern bank, Spivey State Bank, hence she has been named Spivey. She loves to play, whether it is another dog, child or an adult. Spivey is about 25 pounds and will not be much larger. When she jumps she looks like a pogo stick.  Spivey is up to date with her vaccinations, spayed and micro chipped.

Home for Good Dog Rescue Fund Raising Event:

On Saturday, March 8, 2014, Home for Good Dog Rescue will hold its 5th Annual “Taste of Italy” Dinner and Tricky Tray. The event is a major fundraiser for Home for Good Dog Rescue.

This year’s event will be held at the Long Hill Community Center, 264 South Warren Avenue in Stirling, New Jersey. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $35 per person and $15 for children under 12 years of age.

A limited number of tickets are available. Advanced tickets or reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased online at homeforgooddogs.org or in person at the Home for Good office located at 465 Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights. Home for Good is a volunteer-based, 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue. We are a 100 percent foster based organization with an office in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Our organization is dedicated to rescuing dogs from deplorable conditions in kill shelters, tending to their physical needs and finding them a new loving home where they can thrive.

At Home for Good, we seek the best treatment for our animals. We provide medical care, training, support and hope. Our dogs are vaccinated and ID micro-chipped. We rescue puppies and dogs that are facing euthanasia. Some require surgery from a specialist to repair broken limbs, while others may need additional rehabilitation time and specific medical care for respiratory illnesses, skin infections, heartworm treatments, and emergency surgeries. Through our adoption services, these loving animals are given a chance at a happy and fulfilled life.
