More Full-Day, Tuition-Based Kindergarten Information Offered

The Summit Public School District is offering additional information about the recently-approved tuition-based, full-day kindergarten pilot program, which will begin in the 2014-2015 school year. 

One full-day class of 20 students each will be held at the Willson and Jefferson Primary Centers and run from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Students will be selected via a lottery system. Lottery applications for full-day kindergarten are available online and at all district schools. The drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at the Board of Education. The public is welcome to attend. Those chosen will be notified on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014. 

Tuition will be $5,500 per student for the year. Reduced tuition will be available for those who qualify for assistance. There is a non-refundable $550 fee due at the time of registration. This fee will be applied to the September 2014 $5,500 tuition, which can be paid in installments. More payment information will be provided at registration and at the Summit School District website. 

A tour of Wilson Primary Center will take place at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, while a tour of Jefferson Primary will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. The district will no longer offer a third party, on-site, fee-based extended care program. Organizations will continue to provide this service off-site.
