Board Modifies RODS-III Grant Application

Operations Chair Eleanor Doyle said grant to expand pre-k and kindergarten was unlikely.

Operations Chair Eleanor Doyle updated the Board of Education at Thursday night's workshop meeting that an application already submitted for a RODS-III grant to expand the district's pre-kindergarten and kindergarten program has been adjusted.

"Because of the governor has dramatically changed the priorities for early education in the state it is unlilkey that we would receive a RODS grant," she said.

So, Doyle said, the grant has been transformed into a debt service application in case the district decides in the future to purpose an expansion of the early education programs.
