Summit Healthy Day

This Saturday, September 25th, marks the first annual City of Summit Healthy Day, bringing a variety of educational seminars, open houses, and fun activities to Summit residents.

The event was created by Joyce Passen, Manager of the Community Health Department at Overlook Hospital, in conjunction with Sue Fieseler of the Summit YMCA, to promote a day of healthy mind, body and spirit specifically for the citizens of Summit.  The event is part of the Mayor's Wellness Campaign to make Summit an active and recognized "healthy" community within the state.

The event kicks off at 9:00 am in front of Overlook Hospital.  Mayor Jordan Glatt, joined by Mark Holtz, Chief Operation Officer of Overlook Hospital, will read a proclamation and invite participants to refreshments and a "walk in the heart" where attendees can stroll through a large scale model of a human heart.
