Summit Toastmasters- "Education Night" for Aspiring Public Speakers

Thinking about sharpening your presentation skills? For more than 50 years, the Summit Toastmasters club has supported public speakers of all levels in their quests to improve their speaking and leadership skills.

The group, which meets weekly at the United Methodist Church of Summit on Kent Place Blvd., is hosting a special “Education Night” on Wednesday November 2 from 8PM-10PM. Some of the club’s more advanced speakers will share their secrets for overcoming common stumbling blocks, including selecting the right topic, organizing your material for maximum effectiveness, and incorporating humor and storytelling.

Says Summit Toastmasters President Anita Fickensberger, “We’re lucky to have such a wealth of knowledgeable presenters in our club, and this meeting gives them a forum for sharing their experiences with their fellow club members and guests.”

Summit Toastmasters provides a forum for developing, practicing and improving your public speaking and communication skills in a warm and welcoming environment. Through the well-known Toastmasters International program, novice and experienced speakers come together to learn, listen, think, and speak more effectively.

Says Fickensberger, “Public speaking skills are more vital than ever — think about a job interview, a business presentation, even standing up and just making a comment at a community meeting. Toastmasters gives you the skills to think on your feet and communicate your ideas more effectively in just about any setting.”

Guests are always welcome at Summit Toastmasters’ weekly Wednesday evening meetings. For more information, visit SummitToastmasters.com.
