Summit Y Celebrates MLK Day of Service

Summit Y Achievers Plan MLK Day Events

High School students in the Summit Y's Achievers Program will celebrate Martin Luther King Day of  Service on Monday, January 18 at the Summit Y , 67 Maple Street, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. This event is open to the community and will feature an interactive presentation for families celebrating the life and work of Martin Luther King, including poems, speeches and hands on activities for children.             The Summit Area YMCA Latino and Black Achievers Program, founded in 1993, help young people reach their personal and career goals through academic support, career exploration and mentoring. The program provides a nurturing environment in which students are exposed to exciting experiences and professionals -- all designed to help them to develop the skills and self-confidence needed to succeed in school and beyond.
