The Yoga of Bliss

Onyx Mind Body NJ is holding a unique and special event, "The Yoga of Bliss," on Sunday, October 10 at its newly expanded Yoga Center in Warren, NJ.  This will be a rare opportunity to practice yoga with Lama Christie McNally and Ian Thorson, co-authors of Two as One:  A Journey to Yoga, before they depart for Europe on a global tour and then lead a group into a three year retreat in silence in Arizona.

Lama Christie is a preeminent yogi and one of the first Western women to be recognized as a Buddhist Lama. Having trained in Tibetan monasteries in India and Nepal, she received extensive instruction in all the texts required for a Geshe degree, which is traditionally a 20-year course of study. A translator of ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit, and a professor of religious studies, Lama Christie is also the author of the Tibetan Book of Meditation, and co-author of The Essential Yoga Sutra, How Yoga Works, and The Eastern Path to Heaven.

Two sessions will comprise Sunday's program. Attendees can attend one or both. The first, "Two as One Partner Yoga" (yoga class) will run from 2 to 4:30 p.m. (partners are not required). This will be followed with the "Yoga of Bliss Satsang" (lecture) from 6 to 8 p.m. and will include a book signing by Lama Christie and Ian.  Suggested donation is $40 for the entire day.  Food and music will be offered during the break.
