Gloria Ron-Fornes Elected Summit BOE President

Celia Colbert became vice president; Katherine Kalin and James Freeman were sworn in to new terms.

The Summit Public Schools Board of Education selected Gloria Ron-Fornes as its new president during its reorganization meeting Thursday.

Ron-Fornes follows outgoing President George Lucaci, according to the district's Web site. Flanked by her husband and sons, Ron-Fornes' first order of business was to ask the board to lead the district with respect and dedication, the site stated.

Celia Colbert became vice president, a position previously held by Ron-Fornes.
