For immediate release
In an attempt to better meet the educational needs of our Spanish speaking community, we are hosting a college information session for Spanish speakers, which will take place in the Summit High School Library on Wednesday, November 28 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
This activity is specially designed for the Spanish speaking community and will be conducted in the Spanish language. Our primary goal is to provide information about post-secondary education opportunities, how to best prepare to take full advantage of these opportunities, and how to go about the admissions and financial aid process. Spanish-speaking representatives from a diverse group of colleges and universities will be present, and parents and students will have the opportunity to ask –in their own native language-- whatever questions they may have about this very important matter. Our objective is to provide much needed information to the students’ parents, involve the entire family in this important process, and encourage a greater number of Hispanic students to pursue higher education.
We are extending an invitation to our neighboring school districts of Milburn, Madison, Springfield, Chatham, New Providence, Berkley Heights, and Westfield, and we hope to generate great interest and to provide an important public service.
If you have any questions, or need additional information, please call Mr. Arturo López, at (908) 273-1494, extension 5482.
