Press Release: First Annual Hilltopper Alumni Weekend was a Huge Success

The Hilltopper Alumni Weekend Committee thanks all who made the event a huge success.

The first annual Hilltopper Alumni Weekend was a huge success!  The Hilltopper Alumni Weekend committee would like to sincerely thank all sponsors and associations that helped support and fund the fantastic events.

Kudos goes to the Summit High School administrators, faculty and students for their hospitality to guest speaker alums, and for the amazing performances by the string quartet, chamber chorus and forensic students.

Special thanks goes to the Hat Tavern for hosting the Alumni social on Friday night, Claremont Realty for sponsoring a fun golf outing at the Municipal Golf Course, the Summit Boosters Association for selling alumni t-shirts all weekend, the Towne Deli for providing a delicious cookout lunch for alums and residents on Saturday afternoon and the Broadway Diner for hosting alumni for brunch on Sunday.

Sincere gratitude is due to the Summit Area YMCA for holding their annual 5 K Run/2 Mile Walk during the Hilltopper Alumni Weekend and to Summit Downtown Inc. members for offering discounts and promotions to SHS alumni.

Generous donations from our sponsors -- Lois Schneider Realtors, Hilltop Community Bank and Graham, Curtin Attorneys at Law -- made this weekend possible and successful.

“This terrific weekend could not have happened without the partnership of Summit High School’s administration and faculty,” said Peter Laughlin, organizer of the Hilltopper Alumni weekend committee.  “We are grateful for their support, and the enthusiastic participation of the Summit High students.”  He added.
