Superintendent of Schools Nathan Parker announced on Tuesday that schools will remain closed on Wednesday. "We will determine each day if further school closings are necessary," he said in a statement. "We recognize these closings are unsettling."
Last year's October snow storm caused Parker to close schools for five days due to power loss, using up all the school system's designated snow days for the year. The school year ended a day later than originally planned to make up for the loss.
"We are all hopeful that this most recent storm damage will soon be resolved and all will be safe as we recover," Parker told Patch in an email.
