Summit Schools Welcome New Staff Members

57 new staff members were added to the district

The Summit Public Schools welcomed 57 new staff members to begin the 2011-2012 school year.

The new teachers participated in the district’s Welcome Aboard Teacher Training program (WATT), which was conducted over four days before school began. WATT is coordinated by Dr. Ken Shulack, the district’s director of human resources. Among the topics covered in WATT workshops were media literacy, culturally responsive teaching, technology, and differentiated teaching. The workshops were facilitated by district administrators. The Suburban Chamber of Commerce hosted the new staff at a luncheon held at the Grand Summit Hotel on the last day of the WATT program.
