Superintendent Reports Enrollment Increase

Superintendent says 70 student increase is largely due to transfers from private kindergartens.

Superintendent Dr. Nathan Parker reported at the board of education meeting Thursday that enrollment in the Summit Public Schools is up 70 students this year.

Parker said this increase is largely due to transfer students from private kindergartens. The districts kindergartens have seen their enrollment increase this year by 30 students.

Total district enrollment is now at 3,893 students, but Parker said this number is only 12 students over the district's projections for this year.
