Free Parking in Downtown Summit for Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30

American Express and Patch.com are sponsoring free, short-term parking in downtown Summit.

The City of Summit, NJ Parking Services Agency has announced that American Express and Patch.com are sponsoring free parking in select areas of downtown Summit on Nov. 30 for Small Business Saturday.

As part of an ongoing commitment to encourage people to shop locally, American Express and Patch.com have joined together to sponsor free parking in 50 towns across the country on Small Business Saturday. Summit was chosen participate and the request was approved by Common Council at its Oct. 15 meeting.  Council had previously approved free parking in all of downtown Summit on the day after Thanksgiving or Black Friday, Nov. 29 and on Saturday, Nov. 30.

On Small Business Saturday, American Express and Patch.com will be sponsoring free short-term metered parking in the areas on Springfield Avenue, Union Place, Maple Street, Beechwood Road, Bank Street and Summit Avenue. Sponsored meters will be covered with blue and white bags. While American Express and Patch.com sponsor these short-term meters, all parking is free in Summit on Friday and Saturday.
