Bonds of Courage To Host 'Cycle for Courage' Fundraiser on Jan. 26

Fundraiser will be hosted at Summit Area YMCA and will benefit post-9/11 troops, veterans and their families. Register online at bondsofcourage.org.

Bonds of Courage is planning their 1st annual Cycle for Courage indoor cycling fundraiser, which will be hosted by the Summit Area YMCA on Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

If you enjoy spin classes or cycling, you can Cycle for Courage to support our post-9/11 troops, veterans and their families at this fun event.

In order to participate, you must register on line at bondsofcourage.org.  There will be three 45-minute spin classes led by professional instructors from the Summit Area YMCA. You may enroll in any or all classes for a tax deductible donation of $75 per class. Once registered, you can ask others to sponsor your ride by creating a personalized pledge page at the website, emailing friends and posting your involvement on your Facebook page.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three fundraisers. If cycling is not your thing but you want to be a part of the day, you can choose to sponsor a rider or simply making a donation at bondsofcourage.org.

All registered riders and their friends will also be invited to pick up their registration packet and cycling t-shirt at the Cycle for Courage kick-off party, which will be held on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Summit Elks Lodge from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. This party will get your feet moving for the next morning’s event with dancing to the rhythms of The Lenox Underground, food, cash bar, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle.

The proceeds from this event will be dedicated to the four key programs that Bonds of Courage offers to our participating post — 9/11 troops, veterans and their families: Jobs, Health, Families and Finances.

Some of the major sponsors who will be supporting this event are the Summit Area YMCA, the Summit Elks Lodge 1246, Lois Schneider Realtor and Investors Bank.

Space is limited so register today. If you have any questions about this event, please call the Bonds of Courage office at 908-273-4122.
