Boys Hockey Deadlocks in Tie

Hilltoppers settle for tie against Cranford on Tuesday.

The Game: After a tough loss to Chatham earlier in the week, the boys hockey team looked to turn things around against Cranford.

Unfortunately, after a back-and-forth game, the Hilltoppers had to settle for a tie, 3-3.

Cranford took and early lead in the first period before back-to-back goals by Summit's Mike Santino, #11, and Timmy Yager, #22, put the Hilltoppers on top of the scoreboard.

Another goal by Yager in the second period gave Summit a 3-2 edge to start the third.  However, Cranford struck back halfway through the final period and Summit was unable to muster a final goal; settling for a tie.
