Coach Piede Is All Smiles After Summit Swim Team Clinches State Title

Hilltoppers sealed the victory after placing second in final event. Here, Head Coach Luke Piede talks about his first season, his team and his experience at the state championship.

On the heels of a thrilling 87-83 victory over Princeton in the State Semifinals and winning 9 out of 11 events at the County Final, the No. 7 Hilltoppers clinched its first state title in Summit High School history over No. 5 Moorestown on Feb. 23 at The College of New Jersey.

Led by first-year head coach Luke Piede, the Hilltoppers defeated No. 5 Moorestown 88-82 on Feb. 23 at The College of New Jersey after taking second place in the 400 freestyle relay, the final event of the meet.
