Friday Night Rec- Free Event for Summit's Middle School Teens

On Friday, January 13, 2012, the Department of Community Programs will host another great Friday Night Rec! event. Middle School teens in grades 6 to 8 will be treated to a unique teen experience. This Friday Night Rec! blends a 3 on 3 Basketball Challenge and a Dance Party featuring DJ Melissa from Summit Soundz Entertainment. Once you have entered the building, those that leave will not be allowed to enter again. Each Friday Night Rec! has had a theme. This one pairs up physical activity and a dance party. It's sure to please everyone! Using the NCAA formula, students will have the opportunity to make up teams of three to compete in the Basketball Challenge. Both boys and girls are encouraged to participate and form teams. Prizes for the top teams will be awarded. DJ Melissa will spin the top hits and be on the floor for all of the interactive dances. Refreshments will be served. Friday Night Rec! is held at the Summit Community Center, 100 Morris Ave in Summit from 7 to 9 PM. Friday Night Rec!
