Summit Residents Free to Try Out Family Aquatic Center

Summit residents who are not currently members of the Summit Family Aquatic Center will have a great opportunity to give the facility a try and enjoy some great music, too.

Annually, the gates of Summit’s Family Aquatic Center are open to non members to visit the site, listen to some great music and have a swim. This year, there are three opportunities to do so.

Kids ages 11 and older are welcome to the Family Aquatic Center Jive and Dive! On Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM, youth can swim under the lights and dance on the deck to the music of Summit Soundz. Kids age 11 and older are admitted free at 7:30 PM. Rain Date is August 24th.

Adults and families get their free visit on two separate dates. You can enjoy the music of “Slick” on Sunday, August 21 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Rain Date is Sunday, August 28th. Slick is a great rock and roll band that will delight all ages. Open gate begins at 6 PM. No membership is required. The last chance for a free swim and concert is Sunday, September 4 for Richie G in concert. Concert and open gate begins at 6 PM.

The Summit Family Aquatic Center is an award winning facility located at 100 Morris Avenue in Summit. Membership is open to Summit residents. The facility is open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day since 1972. A variety of memberships are available. The facility features a long course, L shaped pool complete with a serpentine slide, drop slide, diving board and handicapped accessible ramp. The second pool is a Family Leisure Pool complete with fountains, sprays and a zero depth entrance.
