Girls Swimming Falls to Chatham, 98-72

Carey Fries, Tasha Kewalramani, KJ Winchell, and Jackie Joffe broke school record for 200 IM relay.

Chatham defeated the Summit girls swim team Wednesday, 98- 72, in the second meet of the season.

However, senior Carey Fries, freshman Tasha Kewalramani, senior KJ Winchell, and freshman Jackie Joffe broke the school record for the 200 IM relay, previoiusly set in  2003, with a time of 1:54.87. 

"Kewalramani was .07 sec away from breaking the school record in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:10.77," said head coach John Ross in an e-mail. "This record has stood since 1978."

Fries won the 200 free with a time of 1:59.99 and the 500 free with a time of 5:22.24. 

Winchell, Joffe, sophomore Jayne Mandel, and Fries won the 400 free relay with a time of 3:51.88.
