Mark Jones Wins Meet of Champions in High Jump
The Summit High girls 4 x 800 meter relay team of Katie Watson, Kearsley Olcott, Bridget O'Brien and Rebecca Cummings placed fourth.
Mark Jones, a junior at Summit High School, placed first in the high jump at the New Jersey Meet of Champions held at South Plainfield June 3. Jones jumped 6 ft 10 inches to clinch the championship title. Jones along with teammate Ben Raskin will participate in the New Balance Nationals competition later this month in Greensboro, N.C. Raskin will compete in the Men's 400 meter race.
The Summit High girls 4 x 800 meter relay team of Katie Watson, Kearsley Olcott, Bridget O'Brien and Rebecca Cummings placed fourth at the NJ Meet of Champions. The relay team has qualified to participate in the 4 x 800 meter event at the New Balance Nationals and will also head off to North Carolina on June 17.
