Sideline Report: Summit LAX Falls to Delbarton 9-8

Coach Jim Davidson called yesterday's game a 'hard fought battle.'

The Hilltoppers knew they had a challenge ahead of them when preparing to face Delbarton in Wednesday's men's lacrosse game at InvestorsBank Field in Summit, and in the end, a few mistakes cost them the game.

The team lost 9-8 to Delbarton in a game that was tied 3-3 at halftime. Summit's offense was particularly strong in the fourth quarter of the game, when Austin Carbone scored three goals to tighten Delbarton's lead, but in the end, the Hilltoppers were unable to pull ahead of their competitors.

"Austin Carbone was a standout player scoring three goals in the fourth quarter," Summit Coach Jim Davidson said. "Delbarton was able to capitalize on some mistakes and was able to build a lead."
