Summies Score Big at Franklin Youth Gymnastics Festival

Several teams finished as meet champions.

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from sent 34 gymnasts to the Bunny Hop Invitational at Westy's Gymnastics in Franklin, New Jersey on Sunday April 14th.

Copper, Silver and Gold Teams ended up as Meet Champions while the Bronze team also finished on the podium in third place.

Copper Team Girls Win All Three Age-Groups

Catherine Singow was the meet champion with a season-best 38.35 in the 8 year old age-group.  She won vault (9.7), bars (9.5) and beam (9.8).  Kasey Walsh finished 2nd with a 37.45.  She won floor (9.5), 2nd on beam (9.35) and 3rd on both vault (9.5) and bars (9.1).  Emily Weisman finished 4th overall with a 36.15.  She finished 3rd on beam with a season-best score of 9.3 and floor (9.25).

In the 11-12 year old age-group, Julie Phipps was the meet champion with a season-best 38.1.  She won vault (9.85) and bars (9.6) with season-high scores and finished 2nd on both beam (9.15) and floor (9.5).  Ruby Hodges finished 3rd overall with a season-high 37.05.  She won floor with a personal best 9.55 and finished 3rd on vault (9.45), bars (9.3) and beam (8.75).

In the 9 year old age-group, Murphy Degen was the meet champion with a season best 37.1.  She won 2nd place on vault (9.65) and floor (9.3) with season-high scores and finished 3rd on both bars (9.05) and beam (9.1).

Margaret Griffith finished 2nd overall with a season-best 36.8.  She won beam with a personal best 9.4 and finished 2nd on floor (9.3) and 4th on vault (9.5).  Katya Wardle finished 3rd overall with personal best scores on all four events and an all-around of 36.75.  She finished 2nd on beam (9.2), 4th on floor (9.15) and bars (9.0) and 5th on vault (9.4).  Isabel Claus finished 4th overall with a personal-best 36.25.  She finished 2nd on bars (9.1) and 3rd on vault (9.6).  Emma Claus finished 6th overall with a 36.1.  She won 3rd place on floor with a season-high 9.2 and 4th on beam (9.0).  Dana Efron finished 9th overall with a 35.3.  She won 3rd place on floor with a season high 9.2 and 5th on bars (8.9).  Charlotte Girouard finished 10th overall with a 35.2.  She won floor with a season's best 9.35 and finished 4th on bars (9.0).

Bronze Team Puts Up Six New Personal Best All-Around Scores

 

Kayleigh Driscoll led the Summies by finishing 2nd overall in the 9-10 year old age-group with a personal best 36.55.  She won floor (9.45) and finished 2nd on both vault (8.7) and beam (9.4).  Isabella Leonard finished 4th overall with a personal best 34.45.  She finished 4th on floor (9.1), beam (8.5) and bars (8.85).  Sophia Confalonieri finished tied for 4th place overall with a 34.45.  She won 4th place on floor (9.15) and  vault (8.4).  Julia Ippolito finished 5th overall with a 33.95.  She won 3rd place on floor (9.2) and 6th place on bars with a personal best 8.5.  Allison Lee finished 6th overall with a state-qualifying score of 32.85, competing all around for the first time this season.  She won 3rd place on beam (9.0) and finished 5th on vault (8.35).  Essie Pasternak finished 7th overall with a 32.65.  She won 3rd place on vault (8.65) and 7th on floor (8.7).

 

In the 11 year old age-group, Tess Ostroff was the meet champion with a personal best 35.4.  She won both bars (8.9) and beam (9.65), and finished 2nd on floor (9.2).  Devon Degen finished 4th overall with a personal best 35.35.  She finished 3rd on beam (9.1) and 4th on floor (9.05) and bars with a personal best 8.7.  Sally Carnevale finished 5th overall with a season-high 33.75.  She won 4th place on floor (9.0) and 5th place on beam (8.55).

Silver Team Has 4 New Personal best All-Around Scores

 

Kiera Little led the Silver Team winning the 12-13 year old age-group with a 36.5.  She won vault with a season high 9.65 and 2nd place on bars (8.6), beam (8.85) and floor (9.4).  Margaret Robb finished 3rd overall with a 35.35.  She won 3rd place on beam (8.8) and bars (8.55) and 5th on floor with a season-high 8.9.  Cassie Ippolito tied for 3rd place overall with a 35.35.  She won bars (8.65) and finished 3rd on vault with a season high 9.25.

 

Claire Murdock finished 2nd overall in the 10-11 year old age-group with a 36.15.  She won floor (9.3), finished 2nd on vault (9.45) and 3rd on both bars (8.8) and beam (8.6).  Anna Griffith finished 4th overall with a personal best 35.55.  She won beam with a season's best 9.1 and finished 3rd on vault (9.3).  Anna Bowyer finished 5th overall with a personal best 35.35.  She won 2nd place on bars (9.1) and finished 3rd on floor (9.1).  Caroline Griffith finished 6th overall with a season-high 35.0, while attaining personal best scores on all 4 events.  She won beam (9.1) and finished 2nd on floor (9.2).  Emily Vinick finished 7th overall with a 33.65.  She won 5th place on beam (8.25) and 6th on bars (8.3).

 

Gold Girls Achieve Two Personal Best All-Around Scores

 

Abby Claus finished 2nd overall in the 11-12 year old age-group with a personal best 35.25.  She won bars (9.0) and finished 2nd on both beam (8.85) and floor (9.1).  Alysia Lopez finished 3rd overall with a 34.9.  She won floor (9.2) and finished 2nd on both vault (8.4) and bars (8.7).  MaryKaylee Speck finished 4th overall with a 32.25.  She won 3rd place on both vault (8.35) and floor (8.6).  Noa Efron finished 2nd overall in the 13-14 year old age-group with a season-high 34.1, and 4 new personal best event scores.  She won beam (9.0) and floor (8.9) and finished 2nd on vault (8.4).

 

The Summies' next meet will take place on April 29th as they "Tumble Into Spring" at ENA in Pompton Plains, NJ.
