Summit Football Takes County Title With Win Against Hillside

Summit heads to the NJSIAA quarterfinals next week.

The Summit High School football team won the Union County title Saturday afternoon, beating Hillside, 39-25, at Hillside High School. 

The Hilltoppers have won 44 straight regular season games going back to 2009, according to NJ.com. With this victory, the team clinches its fifth straight undefeated regular season.

"This season is a testament to how hard these kids have worked in the weightroom during the offseason," said head coach Kevin Kostibos. "We just hope to keep the momentum going into the playoffs." 

Summit heads to the NJSIAA Quarterfinals next week.
