Unbeaten Summit Football Captures State Title
Hilltoppers win second straight state crown and eighth overall.
The Summit High football team capped an undefeated season Friday night by holding off Parsippany Hills 16-13 in the North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 championship game at Kean University.
The Hilltoppers (12-0) grabbed a 16-6 halftime lead before thwarting the Vikings' second-half rally. Par Hills had one last chance, but on fourth-and-12 with less than two minutes remaining, Summit intercepted the ball in the end zone.
Summit captured its second straight state sectional title and eighth overall.
